Staff Sergeant Tom Mahovsky is a euphonium player with the United States Air Force Band of the West. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Slippery Rock University, and a Master’s degree in Euphonium Performance with a minor in Music & Medicine from the University of North Texas. His primary teachers include Dr. Brian Meixner, Dr. Brian Bowman, and Dr. John Tranter.
SSgt Mahovsky has been a featured soloist with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West and the Butler County Symphony Orchestra to premier “Penumbra” by Stephen Barr, and record “When Jesus Wept” from William Schuman’s New England Triptych. He has also performed at The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own” Tuba-Euphonium Workshop in Washington, D.C.
