Staff Sergeant Lou Kohley

Staff Sergeant Lou Kohley is an audio engineer with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB, CA. He also serves as the unit's video production tech. Originally from Ocean City MD, his Air Force career began in 2005.

Sergeant Kohley is a 2004 graduate of Shenandoah University where he earned a Bachelor's of Music in Commercial Music. After graduation he held a teaching position in the recording studio at Shenandoah and worked for the United States Air Force Band in Washington D.C. as a civilian contractor. Prior to joining the United States Air Force, Sergeant Kohley worked as a freelance audio engineer in the Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. areas working for such internationally known groups as the Average White Band, Dickie Betts, Joe Bonamassa, Skunk Baxter, and Burning Spear. In 2008, he deployed as a member of the popular music ensemble "Mobility" to Iraq, Afghanistan, Qatar, and Kenya. In 2013 he deployed again as a member of The Blue Yonders to 9 countries throughout the Middle East and Southwest Asia.

Sergeant Kohley's military decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with a gold border 1st Oak leaf cluster.
