Senior Airman Daniel Nebel is a hornist with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB, CA and also serves as a media representative for the unit. Originally from Los Alamos, NM, his Air Force career began in 2013.
Airman Nebel graduated from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY with a Bachelor's Degree in applied music and a performer's certificate in 2008. In 2011, he received a Master's Degree from Wichita State University in Wichita, KS. His teachers include W. Peter Kurau, Dr. Nicholas Smith, Marian Hesse, Derek Conrad, Jacek Muzyk, and Robert Ward. Airman Nebel is currently serving as acting principal horn of the North State Symphony and has performed 3rd/associate principal horn with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and principal horn with the Wichita Grand Opera. He has also performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Wichita Brass, Missouri Street Theatre, Ohio Light Opera, Colorado College Summer Music Festival, and the New York String Orchestra Seminar. He is also a church organist, currently serving as the music director for St. Giles Episcopal Church in Moraga, CA.
During his AF career, he has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, as a contributing artist at the 2015 International Horn Symposium, and performed solo recitals and presented masterclasses at Wichita State University, University of Northern Colorado, Sonoma State University, University of California Santa Barbara, Idaho State University, Brigham Young University Idaho, Boise State University, and Corbin University.
