Technical Sgt. Kristopher Westrich is a trumpeter with the Concert Band, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. Originally from Rochester, New York, his career in the Air Force began in 2011.
Before joining the Air Force, Westrich freelanced and studied in Rochester, N.Y., Chicago, and Los Angeles, performing with a wide array of ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Chicago Symphony Orchestra's MusicNow contemporary music program, the Rochester Philharmonic, The Chicago Philharmonic, and the Chicago Civic Orchestra. Westrich earned an honors diploma through the Eastman School of Music's preparatory division studying with Wesley Nance. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Music degree at Northwestern University under the guidance of Charles Geyer, Barbara Butler, and Christopher Martin, before earning a professional studies certificate at the Colburn School studying with James Wilt.
