Master Sgt. Kristopher Westrich is the assistant principal trumpet with the Concert Band, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. Originally from Scottsville, New York, his career in the Air Force began in 2011.
Before joining the Air Force, Sgt. Westrich freelanced and studied in Rochester, N.Y., Chicago, and Los Angeles, performing with a wide array of ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's MusicNow contemporary music program, the Rochester Philharmonic, the Chicago Philharmonic and the Chicago Civic Orchestra.
A graduate of Northwestern University and The Colburn School, Sgt. Westrich received a bachelor’s degree and a professional studies certificate in trumpet performance under the tutelage of Charlie Geyer, Barbara Butler, Christopher Martin, and Jim Wilt.
