TSgt Timothy Hilgert


Technical Sgt. Timothy Hilgert is a trombonist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. Originally from Valdosta, Georgia, he began his career in the Air Force in 2013.

Prior to joining the Air Force, Hilgert earned his Bachelor of Music from Valdosta State University in 2011 and his Master of Music from the Yale School of Music in 2013. Following his enlistment, he earned his Associate of Applied Science in Music from the Community College of the Air Force in 2015 and his Doctor of Musical Arts from the Catholic University of America in 2018. His primary teachers include Dr. Doug Farwell, Scott Hartman, and Craig Mulcahy, with additional study from Joseph Alessi, Mark Lawrence, and Ralph Sauer.

Air Force career highlights include providing music for the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) change of command ceremony at Hurlburt Field in 2016 and the 2018 White House Easter Egg Roll.
