Chief Master Sergeant Daniel P. Valadie

Chief Master Sergeant Daniel Valadie is the Drum Major for the United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C.  Originally from New Orleans, LA, his Air Force career in the Air Force began in 1998 as a percussionist in The United States Air Force Band Ceremonial Brass. Sergeant Valadie was named Assistant Drum Major in 2013 and Drum Major in 2015.

Chief Valadie received a Bachelor of Music Education from James Madison University in 1995 and a Master of Music degree in percussion performance from George Mason University in 2007.  His teachers included Ken Harbison, C. William Rice, Robert W. Smith, Mark Thurston, and Marty Hurley.  He has performed with the Lynchburg Symphony and the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps.  He continues to be an active teacher, arranger, and adjudicator for marching bands and percussion ensembles in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and New York.

Air Force career highlights include participation in five presidential inaugural parades, two Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, multiple appearances on NBC’s Today Show, and Super Bowl XLIV.
