MSgt Kathleen L. Fitzpatrick

Master Sergeant Kathleen L. Fitzpatrick is a French hornist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. Originally from Westerville, Ohio, she began her Air Force career in October 1998 and served as the principal French hornist in the Concert Band for many years before joining the Ceremonial Brass in 2016.


A 1997 graduate of Indiana University, Fitzpatrick received a Bachelor of Music degree in horn performance. In 1997-98, she attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she worked toward a degree in performance. Before joining the Air Force, Fitzpatrick performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and The Canadian Brass. Additionally, she served as the solo horn and a brass quintet member with the Star of Indiana Brass Theatre. Her former teachers include Myron Bloom, Eli Epstein, Michael Hatfield, Rick Seraphinoff and Randy Gardner.

Fitzpatrick’s career highlights include backing multiple guest artists including Keiko Matsui and Chaka Kahn, touring Europe with the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and marching in five Presidential Inaugurations.
