Senior Master Sergeant Wayne T. Graham

Senior Master Sgt. Wayne T. Graham the Superintendent of Personnel and Readiness and a violist with the Air Force Strings. Originally from Massapequa, New York, he joined The United States Air Force Band in 2003. 

Sgt. Graham enrolled in the Julliard School of Music in 1987, where he first studied in the pre-college program. He then continued in the collegiate program in 1988. Sgt. Graham received both bachelor's and master's degrees in viola performance from Juilliard in 1992 and 1994. While a student, he was a winner of the Young Artist Competition, the Samuel Gardner Prize, and was a teaching assistant to Eugene Becker. His former teachers include Eugene Becker and William Lincer.

Before joining the Air Force, Sgt. Graham performed with numerous orchestras across the country, including the Minnesota Orchestra, Virginia Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Fort Worth Symphony and the Richmond Symphony. He was principal violist of the Chattanooga Symphony and Sarasota Opera Orchestra. Graham also performed on Broadway and with the national touring companies of "Phantom of the Opera" and "The Lion King".

As a member of the Halcyon String Quartet, Graham was winner of the 1993 Artist International Competition, and performed in Alice Tully Hall, Bruno Walter Auditorium and Weill Recital Hall, including a live radio broadcast on WNYC New York.
