Master Sgt. Matthew Misener is a trumpeter with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. A native of Clifton Park Center, N.Y., his Air Force career began in 2009.
Before joining the Air Force, Sergeant Misener was a freelance trumpet player and teacher. He performed with many ensembles including the National Symphony, Boston Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Maryland Symphony, Albany Symphony, and the New World Symphony. In addition, he taught at the Columbia Institute of Fine Arts. Sergeant Misener attended the Tanglewood Music Festival, AIMS Festival in Graz, Austria, and the Pacific Music Festival.
Sergeant Misener earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory in 2003 and a Master of Music degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2006. His teachers include Frank J. Kaderabek and Charles Schlueter.
