Master Sgt. Kaitlin E. Hartley is an oboist with the Concert Band, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington D.C. Originally from Henderson, Kentucky, her career in the Air Force began in 2013 with the U.S. Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. In July 2014, she became a member of The U.S. Air Force Band.
Hartley earned a Bachelor of Music degree in oboe performance in 2010 from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. In 2012, she graduated from the Yale School of Music with her Master of Music degree. Before joining the Air Force, Hartley attended the National Repertory Orchestra, Texas Music Festival, Chautauqua Music Festival and performed as a substitute in the Louisville Orchestra, New World Symphony and the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra. Her teachers include Dr. Mark Ostoich, Dwight Parry and Stephen Taylor.
