Senior Master Sgt. Joshua Cullum is a trombonist with the Ceremonial Brass, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. In addition to his trombone performance duties, Cullum serves as the Flight Superintendent and formally served as the Assistant Drum Major from 2019-2021.
Sergeant Cullum earned his Master of Music degree from Yale University School of Music in 2008 and his Bachelor of Music from Eastman School of Music in 2006. He continues to be an active performer on both trombone and euphonium, having performed with the National Symphony, Kansas City Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Richmond Symphony, and Delaware Symphony, among others. He also enjoys teaching and has been a clinician at the University of Delaware, University of Akron, and Kent State University.
Sergeant Cullum's Air Force career highlights include the 2012 and 2022 Airmen of Note national tours, two presidential inaugural parades, two Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades, 2014 Kennedy Center Honors, Anthems at Nationals Park, Yankee Stadium, Citi Field, and U.S. Bank Stadium, and numerous appearances on NBC's TODAY Show.
