TSgt Gregory Pflugh

Technical Sergeant Gregory C. Pflugh is a Regional Band Craftsman assigned to the United States Air Force Band of Flight, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He performs his musical duties as a saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and music director for the unit’s popular music ensemble “Flight One." In addition to his musical duties, he serves as the Section Chief for Publicity amongst other collateral duties assigned.

Sergeant Pflugh entered the Air Force in May 2009 following a career as a touring musician.  Following completion of Basic Military Training, he was assigned to the United States Air Force Heartland of America Band at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.  Sergeant Pflugh was then assigned to the USAF Band of the Pacific-Asia, Yokota Air Base, Japan.  He deployed with the Air Force Central Band in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM promoting morale, diplomacy, and outreach to coalition partners and embassies throughout the United States Central Command area of responsibility.

Prior to his current assignment, Sergeant Pflugh was a Professional Military Education Instructor, where he accumulated 4,000 instructor hours while preparing over 750 students to become Noncommissioned Officers during 27 Airman Leadership School classes taught at Yokota Air Base, Japan and Osan Air Base, Korea.  His leadership was crucial to Yokota Airman Leadership School’s 2019 “Best in Air Force” award recognition, and to his subordinate’s instant promotion to the rank of Technical Sergeant through the Air Force Stripes for Exceptional Performers (STEP) program.
