Mr. Douglas A. Roe

Mr. Douglas A. Roe, Director of Operations for the USAF Heartland of America Band, is a native of Denver, Colorado. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Euphonium Performance from West Texas State University and 30 credit hours toward a Master of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa.

Mr. Roe enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1985 and began his career as a trombonist with the USAF Strategic Air Command (SAC) Band at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Neb., which was later designated as the USAF Heartland of America Band. In that assignment he performed on euphonium and trombone and in 22 years served in nearly every major collateral-duty band assignment at Offutt, to include: Director of Supply, Resource Advisor, Director of Operations, First Sergeant, Superintendent and Band Manager. He retired from active duty in 2007, transitioned to civilian pay grade and assumed his current position in June 2007.
