A1C Sarah Cosano


Before joining the Air Force, Airman Cosano completed a contract as the featured vocalist at the New York Bar in the Park Hyatt, Tokyo. She specializes in combining dance and woodwind performance, and has toured Japan and the US as a cast member with BLAST Music in Extreme, the Disneyland All American College Band, and the Aimachi production show, Evolution. Cruise ship contracts have taken her to such diverse places as Spain, Norway, Fiji, Estonia, Italy, Caribbean, and Alaska. She has shared the stage with great artists from both past and present: Bob Florence, Sean Jones, Bob Mintzer, Victor Lewis, the Coasters, Wayne Bergeron, and more.

Airman Cosano has held instructor positions at the Magic Valley School for the Arts, Austin Independent School District, College of Southern Idaho, and Creighton University. She was a teaching assistant at Washington State University and an Othmer fellow at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The focus of her research is tango, and she has presented at the North American Saxophone Alliance regional and national conferences, the Jazz Education Network, and the College Music Society. She currently performs in the Shades of Blue Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band.
