Chief Master Sergeant Michael A. Goetz is the Regional Band Manager of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB, California. He is responsible for and has functional oversight of all fiscal, logistical and operational activities to include manning, personnel support, readiness, public affairs, outreach, production, training, equipping and deploying Airman-musicians in support of SAF/PA and AMC strategic communication objectives in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and Nevada areas of responsibility.

Chief Goetz grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and San Antonio, Texas and entered the United States Army Band program in August 1990. Upon enlisting, he began his career as a tubist with the Concert Band, Brass Quintet and Dixieland Band. Early in his career, Chief Goetz earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland with Dean's List honors and shortly thereafter transitioned to the United States Air Force. His background encompasses several key musical, base support, and leadership roles including an assignment in the Air Force Band program's only Senior Master Sergeant Detachment Chief position, formerly located at Yokota Air Base, Japan.
