Staff Sergeant Josiah Joyce

Staff Sergeant Josiah Joyce plays guitar for the USAF Band of Mid-America. Airman Joyce grew up in an Air Force family and does not consider himself to have a hometown - having lived in Louisiana, Texas, South Carolina, Germany, Illinois, England, and Nebraska.

 

Studying Jazz Performance at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, Staff Sgt. Joyce gathered the tools necessary to play music of all styles. Staff Sgt. Joyce's mentors have included Rick Haydon of SIU-E and his father James C. Joyce.

 

 

Before joining the Air Force in 2015, SrA Joyce made a living as a studio instructor and gigging with various groups throughout the St. Louis area.
