TSgt Mark Barnette

Technical Sergeant Mark Barnette is a tubist with USAF Band of the West, Joint Base San Antonio - Lackland, Texas.  He performs in the Concert Band, Ceremonial Marching Band, and Freedom Brass quintet.  Originally from Lilburn, Georgia, he joined the Air Force in 1998.

Sergeant Barnette has enjoyed a long music career performing in six countries and 35 states of the United States at such iconic venues as Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Nippon Budokan, and the Statue of Liberty.  He has played with the Houston, Omaha, Lincoln, and San Antonio Symphonies, as well as artists Frankie Valli, Marvin Hamlisch, and Wynonna Judd.  His teachers include Harvey Phillips, Ronald Bishop, and David Kirk.
