MSgt Jason P Foster

Master Sergeant Jason P. Foster is a Trombone Craftsman, 3N171J, with the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band.  He serves as the trombone section leader for the Concert Band and is the bass trombonist in the 16-member Rhythm in Blue Jazz Ensemble. In addition, he is the unit’s Drum Major – leading a 35-member ceremonial group. His musical duties take him throughout the eastern United States to jazz festivals, community relations concerts, recruiting events and numerous military ceremonies.  He also serves as the unit’s Section Chief of Resources overseeing resources and a budget encompassing the government purchase card program, the corporate card program and the unit travel program. In previous assignments, Sergeant Foster has served as an Executive Noncommissioned Officer, Supply Chief, Lead Client Support Administrator, Unit Deployment Manager, Organizational Defense Travel Administrator, Agency Program Coordinator, Auditions Coordinator, Functional Area Records Manager, Physical Training Leader and Chief of Records.

In 2010, Sergeant Foster deployed with the ensemble "Vector" to Southwest Asia, where he helped support the morale of U.S. and coalition troops and promoted diplomacy and outreach to host nation communities.  In 2014, he once again deployed in support of Overseas Contingency Operations. As the Director of Operations for the U.S. Air Forces Central Band, he leveraged the power of music to bolster the morale of U.S. and coalition troops and strengthen partnerships throughout 12 countries in Southwest Asia.

Prior to joining the Air Force in 2004, he was a member of the United States Continental Army Band at Fort Monroe, VA and taught public school music in Midland and Odessa, TX.  He has also performed with the Virginia Symphony, Virginia Opera, and Richmond Symphony.  He is a native of Fort Worth, TX.
