Technical Sergeant David A. Fatek, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serves as a Saxophonist for the USAF Heritage of America Band. He holds both a Bachelor of Music degree and Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He studied with Ron Kerber (Pieces of a Dream, Philly Pops), Frank Mazzeo (NJ Saxophone Quartet) and Eric Kloss (Prestige Records Recording artist).
TSgt Fatek has performed with many notable recording artists, including Grover Washington, Jr., Maynard Ferguson, Bobby Watson, Roger Humphries, Eric Kloss, The Temptations, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, and Jimmy Buffet. He has also performed for Presidents Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton and George W. Bush. In addition, he was the saxophone instructor at McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois for three years.
The most rewarding experiences of TSgt Fatek's USAF career have been as part of the "Building Partnership" initiatives throughout Europe and Southwest Asia. He is particularly proud of performances in Djibouti, Africa in 2008, where band events in various small villages throughout the country helped forge new Coalition Partnerships.
