SrA Ian O'Beirne

Senior Airman Ian O'Beirne is a saxophonist with the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific, Yokota Air Base, Japan. Originally from Pennsauken, NJ, his Air Force career began in 2016.

SrA O'Beirne is a 2008 graduate of the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where he earned a Bachelor's degree in saxophone performance. In 2009 he received a Master's degree in music education from the same university. His teachers include Bob Goldman, Frank Mazzeo, Chris Farr, Ron Kerber, Bob Quaile, Kim Reighley and Avery Bree. SrA O'Beirne was a freelance woodwind player in the Philadelphia area before joining the Glenn Miller Orchestra for a seven year stint as their baritone saxophonist, touring the United States, Canada and Japan. During this time he was bandleader for a dectet and sometimes big band known as Slowburn, composing for the group and recording an album of original compositions in January 2016.
