Staff Sergeant Ian O'Beirne

SSgt Ian O’Beirne is Saxophonist at PACAF Band, Yokota AB, Japan.
 
Joining the Air Force in May 2016, SSgt O’Beirne was assigned to the Band of the Golden West, Travis AFB, and served as auxiliary composer/arranger and operations representative for the Commander’s Combo and Pegasus Saxophone Quintet.
 
While assigned to the Band of the Golden West, he participated in the Tournament of Roses, January 2017, for a live audience of 100k and broadcast of over 1.2 million; composed and performed for the 40th International Saxophone Symposium, January 2018, Fairfax, Virginia; and supplemented the USAF Band in Washington DC as clarinetist for the inaugural parade of the 45th POTUS, Donald J. Trump, January 20th 2017. While at Yokota, SSgt O’Beirne has held positions as the music director for Pacific Showcase and Pacific Saxophone Quartet, NCOIC of the latter, as well as the Commander’s executive assistant, resources, and productions. He joined the Yokota Total Force Leadership Development Cadre in 2019 and has been a member of the Council since 2020.
