TSgt Jilian McGreen


Technical Sgt. Jilian McGreen is a mezzo-soprano vocalist with the Singing Sergeants, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington, D.C. A native of Cheshire, Connecticut, her career in the Air Force began in May 2016.

McGreen holds both a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Gwen Coleman Detwiler. She also holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the Ohio State University.

An active recitalist and chamber music performer, McGreen has repeatedly performed Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire, including as a guest artist at Miami University. She was the first vocalist ever to devote an entire recital to the music of Pulitzer Prize winning American composer Yehudi Wyner. She has been heard as a soloist with band and orchestra in a wide variety of works including Handel's Messiah, Tichelli's Angels in the Architecture, and R. M. Schaefer's From the Tibetan Book of the Dead.
