Heritage Brass to get things rolling at NASCAR Sprint Cup event Published May 21, 2009 By MSgt Bob Newlin USAF ACC/BA(L) 21 March 2009 -- The Heritage Brass quintet will be one of the featured military units at pre-race festivities for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Autism Speaks 400 race at Dover International Speedway in Dover, DE on May 31, 2009. The group will perform a short presentation as part of the band's mission to inspire patriotism and encourage young men and women to serve in the military. The Air Force Recruiting Service has recently become the primary sponsor of the No. 43 racecar for the Autism Speaks 400 event. Twice a year NASCAR comes to Dover and service members from across the state participate in the festivities. Besides providing a flyover, Dover Airmen provide security and present the colors during several events on race weekend. The Heritage of America Band is proud to now be part of that tradition.
