Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling -- Washington, D.C.—The United States Air Force Band is excited to celebrate America this Independence Day with three opportunities for local audiences to enjoy live performances. The Ceremonial Brass Quintet, Airmen of Note, and Concert Band will be performing at venues throughout the National Capital Region, honoring our nation’s birthday with concerts in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

The Ceremonial Brass Quintet will present three 20-minute performances at the National Air and Space Museum at 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m., with each mini-concert featuring patriotic favorites. These concerts provide an option for concert-goers who prefer to enjoy music in the comfort of an air conditioned environment.

The Airmen of Note will be featured in an outdoor concert at Columbia Lakefront Stage (10275 Wincopin Cir, Columbia, MD 21044). In addition to playing patriotic favorites, the Airmen of Note will present their popular selection of big band classics. This concert begins at 7 p.m.

The Concert Band and Singing Sergeants will perform at the Air Force Memorial, (1 Air Force Memorial Dr, Arlington, VA 22204). This event begins at 8 p.m., with a special performance by the USAF Honor Guard Drill Team before the concert at 7:30 p.m. This show affords the audience a spectacular view of the fireworks over the National Mall, which will begin immediately following the concert.

For those who are unable to attend a concert, the band will continue its long-standing tradition of the NBC Today Show, performing on a live broadcast on the Fourth of July. Check your local NBC stations as members of the Ceremonial Brass represent the U.S. Air Force on live national television.

Please note that all summer concerts are subject to cancellation due to weather. Check our Facebook and Twitter feed for up-to-the-minute concert status, or call 703-829-5483.
