Technical Sergeant Hillary Grobe

Technical Sgt. Hillary Grobe is an alto vocalist with the Singing Sergeants, the United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington D.C. Her Air Force career began in June 2017.

Originally from Buffalo, New York, Grobe has performed a wide array of repertoire including opera, musical theater, art song, and oratorio. Grobe holds undergraduate degrees in vocal performance and music education from SUNY Fredonia and a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She has been featured in many operatic roles including Flora in Verdi’s La Traviata, the Sandman in Hansel and Gretel, and Dorabella in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte. She has performed various other roles by Offenbach, Bizet, Monteverdi, Weill and more.

Grobe was a Young Artist with Opera North in New Hampshire, Songfest at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, the Vianden International Summer Music Festival in Luxembourg, and the Vancouver International Song Institute. She has appeared with numerous companies in New York City, most recently with the dell’Arte Opera Ensemble. Grobe has sung with prestigious opera choruses around the country including Cincinnati Opera and the Lyric Opera of Chicago.
