Master Sergeant Matthew Hill

Master Sgt. Matthew Hill is a tenor vocalist with the Singing Sergeants. A native of Laurel, Maryland, his Air Force career began in 2017.

Sgt. Hill's Air Force career highlights include solo performances for President Biden at the White House, for international heads of state at the Summit of the Americas, and with the Boston Pops for their annual Forth of July Fireworks Spectacular, as well as singing with the Joint Forces Choir at the state funeral for President George H.W. Bush.

A frequent performer around the National Capital Region, Sgt. Hill has performed with Washington National Opera, Wolf Trap Opera, Annapolis Opera, Washington Concert Opera, Ohio Light Opera, and Opera Saratoga. He has appeared as a concert soloist with ensembles including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, American Bach Soloists, Washington Bach Consort, and The Thirteen, in repertoire including Bach's Mass in B Minor, the Bach’s Passions of both St. Matthew and St. John, Handel's “Messiah” and “Israel in Egypt,” Mozart's Requiem, Britten's Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, and Stravinsky's “Les Noces.”

Sgt. Hill was awarded first place in both the Bethlehem Bach Young American Singers Competition and the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards. He earned both his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park.
