Master Sergeant Mandi Harper

Master Sgt. Mandi Harper is a soprano vocalist with the Singing Sergeants. A native of Columbus, Ohio, she joined The United States Air Force Band in 2011.

Harper received a Bachelor and Master of Music in vocal performance from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. Prior to joining the military, she served as an adjunct professor of voice at Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was the 2010 winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Arkansas District, and she has been a frequent soloist with The Lubbock Chorale, Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, and the Northern Virginia Chorale. Harper had a featured role in the world premiere performance of Christopher Tin’s To Shiver the Sky, and was a guest soloist in Rutter’s Mass of the Children at The Kennedy Center under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop. Harper’s solo repertoire with the Air Force Band and as a civilian recitalist spans compositional history to include works from Bach, Schubert, and Faure to Rorem, Oquin, Beaser and more.

Highlights of her Air Force career include performing with the chorus for President Barack Obama, delivering the national anthem as soloist for the New York Yankees on the Fourth of July, singing for Tom Hanks at the White House, and spreading patriotism at a variety of venues across the country.
