SSgt Quincy Brown


Staff Sergeant Quincy L. Brown joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, in 2012.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, SSgt Brown started his military career at Ft Hood, TX as a Chemical Operations Specialist in the Army, and served one year in Iraq. After separation SSgt Brown earned a Bachelor's degree in Music Business from Wayne State University and a Master's degree in Music Performance from the University of Michigan, where he studied with Joseph Gramley, Jonathan Ovalle, Ian Ding, Brian Jones, and toured with the Symphony Band to China. While earning his degrees, SSgt Brown served as a graduate student instructor at the University of Michigan, taught percussion at both Blanchette Middle School and the Sphinx Preparatory Music program, and acted as a coordinator with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Civic Youth Ensembles. SSgt Brown performed with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra, Grosse Pointe Symphony Orchestra, Dearborn Symphony Orchestra, and Detroit Chamber Winds and Strings. He is currently performs with the United States Air Force Band of the Pacific.
