Staff Sergeant Alex Liu Macias is a native of Guayaquil, Ecuador. He received his Master of Music in Jazz Studies from Indiana University in 2017. In November of 2017 Sergeant Liu Macias joined the Air Force and was assigned to the Band of the West, Lackland AFB, TX. Prior to his current assignment at the Band of the West, Sergeant Liu Macias served eight years in the Air National Guard. He is currently the guitarist for the rock/pop ensemble “Top Flight”.
