Concert Band, Singing Sergeants complete spring concert tour

JOINT BASE ANDREWS, Md. --  The U.S. Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants completed a 12-day spring tour, April 15, 2016, across five southern states.

The band performed 12 concerts for audiences across Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.

"The tour went really well. We had very enthusiastic audiences, mostly full houses every night and we got into a lot of media markets," said Col. Larry H. Lang, U.S. Air Force Band commander and conductor. "I think we were able to make a positive impact on behalf of the Air Force across this entire region of the country."

Both of these units share the same mission: to honor those who have served, inspire patriotism and service, and positively impact the global community on behalf of the U.S. Air Force and the United States of America.

The band performed different shows throughout the tour, but always ended each show with patriotic music and a salute to the veterans in attendance.

"I enjoyed the show a whole lot, it's amazing to be able to see a band like this just perform this well," said Jonathan Wynn, concert attendee. "It's really great."

For some in the audience it was a family affair.

"It was a great experience. We sat on the front row, and it was really a front row experience," said Graham Amy, concert attendee. "The Disney medley was just really fantastic and our grandchildren really, really loved it."
