The Airmen of Note will perform a mix of modern and classic big band music on their upcoming 8-day community relations tour through Virginia and Tennessee, Nov. 12-19.

Many selections performed on this tour will be pulled from the band’s upcoming album, “Global Reach,” which will be released and available for download early next year.

Their first tour concert will be Monday, Nov. 12, in Palmyra, Virginia. While in this region, the band will also give several educational clinics at local high schools. Educational outreach has long been a part of the Airmen of Note’s legacy of service and this tour will be no exception.

After the first three concerts in Virginia, the band will then dip below the state line into Tennessee to finish up their tour. Interestingly, the chief of the Airmen of Note, Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Burns is a native of Cleveland, Tennessee. The band will perform there on Saturday, Nov. 17.

“It is truly an honor to perform in my home town. It is fantastic to have the opportunity to so directly serve the community that made me who I am today.” says Burns.

Tennessee is known as the “Volunteer State” and this spirit is exemplified today in the all-volunteer military of the United States. “We represent airmen serving around the globe,” said Burns. “To represent all the men and women who have risen their right hand to serve in our United States Air Force, this is a sacred duty and we never forget that.”

In addition to Burns, the group’s vocalist, Technical Sgt. Paige Wroble, spent many of her formative years in Tennessee. The band’s last concert in Nashville on Monday, Nov. 19 will serve as somewhat of a homecoming for her as well.
