Washington, D.C. --
Last year, the United States Air Force Band began a recurring, ceremonial event that would honor those who support the United States Air Force. It is entitled “Heritage to Horizons.” This unique set of themed concerts at the U.S. Air Force Memorial returns for a second year, with four events scheduled to occur monthly from May through August.
“Heritage to Horizons” concerts will honor the rich history of the Air Force with impeccable demonstrations by the Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team as well as world-class music, featuring musicians from the Airmen of Note, Concert Band, Max Impact, Strolling Strings, Singing Sergeants, and the Ceremonial Brass Drum Line. From Glenn Miller's Army Air Forces dance band to more modern radio hits, the program spanning seven decades of music will conclude with a patriotic finale, ensuring there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy.
The special performances connect America with Airmen, strengthen esprit de corps and build partnerships. This summer, each “Heritage to Horizons” event will honor specific patriots, including members of Congress, Gold Star Families, and former POWs.
Please note there will be security checkpoints along the perimeter of the Air Force Memorial for these concerts. Shuttle busses from locations near the memorial will be provided. These busses will deliver concert attendees to the security checkpoint at the entrance to the memorial. For shuttle bus and parking information, please visit the Heritage to Horizons website here
