U.S. Air Force 70th Birthday Concerts

Washington, D.C. -- American Airmen have been breaking barriers for 70 years in air, space and cyberspace, resulting in global vigilance, reach and power. The U.S. Air Force Band is proud to help celebrate this milestone by providing musical support to numerous official birthday events in September.

The Singing Sergeants are scheduled to represent the U.S. Air Force at the Philadelphia Eagles versus the Washington Redskins game at FedEx Field on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. The group will be performing the national anthem in honor of Air Force Appreciation Day at the stadium.

On Friday, Sept. 15, we will host a special birthday concert at the Air Force Memorial beginning at 7 p.m. The event will feature the Concert Band and Singing Sergeants along with members of the Ceremonial Brass and U.S. Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team. Don't miss your opportunity to attend this year's final concert at the memorial. If you miss this concert, you can celebrate the Air Force birthday with the Concert Band and Singing Sergeants on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 7 p.m., as they perform on the Plaza Stage at National Harbor. Visit our events calendar for more concert information: http://www.usafband.af.mil/eventscalendar/index.asp.

The Joint Base Andrews Air Show, America's Air & Space Expo, is back once again and this year Celtic Aire closes out the event with evening performances on Saturday, Sept. 16, and Sunday, Sept. 17. The group will be entertaining the nearly 100,000 expected spectators at the close of the show. If you are at the air show, stop by and grab a selfie with the group and tag them @CelticAire. Since 1947, American Airmen have been in the vanguard, defending freedom. They've shown tenacity in Korea's MiG Alley, endurance in Vietnam's Rolling Thunder campaign, decisiveness over the skies of Baghdad during Desert Storm and resilience in Iraq and Afghanistan. Come celebrate the innovation, teamwork and heritage that makes the U.S. Air Force a key component in our national defense.
