11/9/2011 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The AFPAA Band Support Division has released three albums as free mp3 downloads at http://www.music.af.mil/. Immediately available recordings include a compilation by the premier jazz ensemble of the U.S. Air Force the "Airmen of Note" and "Blue Shadows" from the Band of Mid-America jazz combo at http://www.music.af.mil/jazz/index.asp. In addition, a sampler featuring music groups from across the Air Force band career field, "American Airmen" is available at http://www.music.af.mil/sampler/index.asp. These recordings are all original songs written, arranged and performed by Airmen musicians from the band career field.

Airmen with recorded original music they would like considered as downloads through http://www.music.af.mil can contact the Band Support Division at http://www.music.af.mil/main/contactus.asp.

This is a great first step in getting music performed by military bands accessible online in one location. Not only should original Air Force pieces be here but every perfomances these great bands produce should be available to viewhear. Keep this process moving forwar AF ...- Dustin Doyle USAF
