The Airmen of Note is set to release their latest studio album honoring on Veterans Day, Saturday, November 11th.

Aptly titled “Veterans of Jazz,” the album features music by the men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces and went on to become jazz luminaries.

Each song on the album was arranged by current and former members of the Airmen of Note. This direct lineage serves to highlight the band's connection with the amazing legacy of service that our veterans have left us and, indeed, the lofty standard these American patriots have set for all to follow.

“Veterans of Jazz” follows on the heels of a banner year for the Airmen of Note. 2017 opened with the band supporting the 45th presidential inauguration, followed by their world-renowned Jazz Heritage Series. From there, numerous community relations tours in the south-east and western United States all helped to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United States Air Force last month.

In addition to being the Air Force’s 70th anniversary, it is also the centennial of many world-famous jazz musicians, many of whose compositions are featured on this album.

The album is being distributed to 800 radio stations across the United States in anticipation of its release on Veterans Day. The album will then be available for free download on the United States Air Force Band’s website: http://www.music.af.mil/Bands/The-United-States-Air-Force-Band/

The Airmen of Note won’t linger long, however, as they are headed to the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, or “PASIC,” in Indianapolis, Indiana to bring their unique brand of America’s original art form to thousands of students and industry leaders later this month.

Since 1950, the Airmen of Note has presented the finest music America has to offer, bringing the Air Force message of “excellence in all we do” to audiences across the nation and around the world. The Airmen of Note is a proud member of the global Air Force mission, influencing over 200 million people through concert tours, radio, television and internet broadcasts, and at local performances across the National Capital Region in Washington, D.C.
