Technical Sergeant Nicole Frankel

Technical Sergeant Nicole Frankel joined the United States Air Force Academy Band, Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, in March 2023. She currently performs as Flutist with Rampart Winds, Concert Band, and Marching Band. She also serves on the Publicity Team.

Nicole Frankel is a professional flutist coming to the USAF Academy Band from Atlanta, GA. A dynamic performer of solo, chamber, and orchestral music, Nicole has held contracted positions with the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Gulf Coast, and performed regularly with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Ballet, as well as a number of regional orchestras. Previously based in Chicago, Nicole has performed with orchestras throughout Chicagoland, including the Elgin Symphony Orchestra and the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. An avid chamber musician, Nicole Co-Founded the Atlanta-based new music collective, ensemble vim, and performed as Flutist of the Chicago-based new music ensemble, The Zafa Collective. As a member of the American Chamber Winds since 2011, she performed on international tours through venues in the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Italy, Switzerland, and Brazil.

Nicole has attended summer music festivals including the Hamptons Festival of Music, the National Repertory Orchestra, Le Domaine Forget, and the Orford Academy, and she was a Quarterfinalist in the NFA Young Artist Competition in 2019. Nicole completed her M.M. in Flute Performance at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where she was an Associate Instructor of Flute. Prior to that, she held the position of Third Flute/Piccolo in the Ocala Symphony while pursuing a B.M. at the University of Florida. Nicole’s principal teachers are Thomas Robertello, Jennifer Gunn, and Dr. Kristen Stoner. Nicole is originally from Pembroke Pines, Florida.
