Staff Sergeant Brian Bean

Staff Sergeant (SSgt) Brian Bean performs on trumpet with the United States Air Force (USAF) Heritage of America Band, located at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. SSgt Bean has had the pleasure of performing all along the east coast. He has been a featured soloist with the Concert Band, and is a member of Heritage Brass. He enjoys connecting with the various communities in which he performs, as well as speaking with veterans about their prior military service.
 
A native of Appleton, WI, SSgt Bean is a graduate of DePaul University in Chicago, IL where he received his Bachelor of Music degree in 2013 and his Master of Music degree in 2016. His primary teachers throughout his collegiate career were Matt Lee (Illinois Philharmonic), Tage Larsen (Chicago Symphony), Bill Denton (Chicago Lyric Opera) and Matt Comerford (Chicago Lyric Opera). Before joining the Heritage of America Band, SSgt Bean was an active freelancer and educator in Chicago, IL. He has performed with the Skokie Valley Symphony, Lakeshore Symphony, Lone Star Wind Orchestra, Chicago Brass Band, and was a founding member of the Red Star Brass Quintet.
