Master Sergeant Andrew J. Callo

Master Sergeant Andrew Callo is a Clarinetist and Director both Education and Training, and music ensembles with the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast. Originally from Syracuse, New York, his Air Force career began in 1990.

Sergeant Callo graduated from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, VA. He holds a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition, Master of Musical Arts Degree composition and film-scoring from the North Carolina School of The Arts in Winston-Salem, NC.

Sergeant Callo currently resides in Norfolk Virginia. In his civilian career, he serves as Financial Aid Officer at Tidewater Community College. He is also piano accompanist with the Lyric Opera of Virginia.

Sergeant Callo enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1990, joining the Air Force Band of Flight at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He transferred to the Air National Guard, and became a member of the Air National Guard Band of the Smokies in 1997, the Air National Guard Band of the Southwest in 1999, and the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast in 2005. He is a graduate of the Noncommissioned Officer Correspondence Course.

Sergeant Callo's awards and decorations include the Air Force Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal , the California State Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.
