Technical Sgt. Jonathan Davies

Technical Sgt. Jonathan Davies is the principal double bassist with the Concert Band, The United States Air Force Band, Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, Washington D.C. Originally from Setauket, New York, his career in the Air Force began in 2018.

Davies earned a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School in 2012, where he studied with Albert Laszlo. He then earned a Master of Music degree from Boston University in 2014, studying with the Boston Symphony’s principal bassist Edwin Barker.

Prior to joining the Band, Davies was a section member of the Cape Symphony and an active freelance musician throughout the North East. He also participated in music festivals such as the Pacific Music Festival, the Music Academy of the West, the Spoleto Festival USA, the National Repertory Orchestra, and the Aspen Music Festival.
